Wales’ First Minister was in North Wales today when he said he was “supportive” of the Wylfa Newydd plan but didn’t want the area to suffer because of the influx of workers if it happens. He said the developers had the responsibility of making sure there were enough local services for those who already live on the Island and newcomers. He added: “We want to be supportive of it but we want to make sure that it is a balanced plan in which the developer takes account of the wider interests at stake as well as the development itself. “I am committed to renewables, as a contribution Wales will make to our future energy needs, but renewables in the medium term are unlikely to supply everything we need. My party’s policy is that nuclear has its part to play and I will be supporting it.”
