The 2019 edition of the World Nuclear Industry Status Report (WNISR2019) analyzes the state of the nuclear industry in the world on 323 pages and devotes a new chapter to the evaluation of the nuclear option as a means of combating the climate emergency (see the summary in French). Eight interdisciplinary experts from six countries, including four university professors, as well as Amory Lovins, co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Institute, contributed to the work. The conclusion on the performance of the new nuclear is clear: ” Non-nuclear options save more carbon per dollar (…) and per year ” than nuclear. Indeed, “in many nuclear countries, new renewables can now compete with existing nuclear power. ” UK Launch of the World Nuclear Industry Status Report 2019.Tuesday, 7 January 2020 14:30 for a 15:00 start.
