Ten months’ worth of work to repair a leak at Sellafield is finally coming to an end. Teams have been working on the leak to the older part of the site since it was discovered in October last year. Now the work is finally coming to an end after months of planning and effort to make necessary repairs. Following routine maintenance work, staff had discovered that the water levels in one of the sump tanks were falling. The concrete tank, which measures three square feet, contains some nuclear material and water. The water is used to provide protection against radiation.
