VOICES from Sellafield’s past are being featured in a new digital archive. The oral history of ‘Sellafield Stories’ wast started by the Whitehaven Archive and Local Studies Centre, with funding from British Nuclear Fuels. The project recorded over 100 interviews with people closely connected to Sellafield including employees, residents and anti-nuclear campaigners. Cataloguing Manager Vicki Caren said of the tapes: “Their differing perspectives give a fascinating insight not only into the nuclear industry, but also into the local economy and its heavy reliance on Sellafield.
