Rolls-Royce has been served an improvement notice by the nuclear regulator for what it has described as “procedural safety breaches” at the company’s Derby site. The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) has given the manufacturing giant an improvement notice on Rolls-Royce Submarines Ltd. The notice was served after shortfalls were identified against the safety case requirements at a nuclear fuel production facility on the site, the ONR has said. In a statement, the body added: “ONR is satisfied that significant safety margins remained in place at the plant, and that public and worker safety was not compromised.
