Energy and Clean Growth Minister Claire Perry will today hail the Scottish renewables industry as one of the engines of the global low carbon transition. In a keynote speech to the All-Energy Conference in Glasgow, Perry will stress how Scottish renewables now deliver a quarter of UK total capacity and provide jobs for 24,000 people. She will also praise the country’s role in pioneering some of the world’s first marine energy and floating offshore wind projects, as well as its potential to deliver over 4GW of additional offshore wind capacity across 10 sites in the coming years.
