International engineering consultancy Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC) is setting up an office in Edinburgh to capitalise on Scotland’s renewable energy potential. London-headquartered OWC has hired offshore wind expert Scott Sutherland to head up its operation in Scotland. Mr Sutherland joins OWC from rival consulting firm K2 management, where he was involved with a number of offshore wind projects including Deutsche Bucht, Veja Mate and Hohe See in Germany, plus the Galloper development offshore UK. Mr Sutherland previously held managerial roles with CWind, RWE Npower Renewables, E.ON Climate & Renewables, and Siemens Energy Service. In addition to heading up OWC’s team in Edinburgh, Mr Sutherland will also participate in the company’s global advisory, engineering and project management assignments within offshore wind.
