Apple says that 110 of its suppliers are moving to use entirely renewable energy, as tech companies continue to work towards high-profile climate targets. The company announced last year that it will be entirely carbon neutral for its supply chain and products by 2030. While its own operations already use renewable energy, the target aims to ensure that every devices such as iPhones or computers are renewable throughout their manufacturing. Apple and other technology companies such as Microsoft have publicly made a number of such commitments as the environmental impact of their products continue to come under scrutiny. The new announcements will bring online 8 gigawatts of clean energy, and Apple said the impact on emissions would be equivalent to taking 3.4 million cars off the road.
