Carbon, nuclear, renewable electricity and biomass neutrality: what the IPCC tells us. Detailed analysis of the Special Report on the consequences of a global warming of 1.5 ° C published by the IPCC in 2018 provides new lessons. First of all, reducing energy consumption and renewables are the most sustainable levers for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, it is quite possible to do without nuclear energy while remaining below the +1.5 ° C objective, unlike renewables in general and biomass in particular, the mobilization of which must however must be done in a sustainable way.
