Korea Electric Power Corporation has been named as the preferred bidder to build a nuclear power plant in northwest England. The South Korean company will negotiate the acquisition of NuGeneration, a subsidiary of Toshiba that is set to build the Moorside nuclear plant. Toshiba put NuGeneration up for sale as a part of a wider restructuring plan. The Japanese conglomerate suffered massive losses from its nuclear subsidiary Westinghouse, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.
