Conservative MP Ian Liddell-Grainger believes his consistency is already experiencing the long-term benefits of Hinkley Point C. The power plant, based near Bridgwater, is Britain’s first new nuclear power plant in more than 20 years and will provide seven per cent of the UK’s power for 60 years when fully operational. More than 3,000 labourers at working on-site every day and around 250 apprentices have worked on the station to date – a quarter of the total which EDF expects to train during the life of the project.
