Jacobs has announced its enhanced role as a strategic partner on the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project in Somerset. The agreement with NNB Generation Company (NNB Genco), a subsidiary created by EDF Energy to build and operate Hinkley Point C, will remain in place until the £23bn station is commissioned. As part of the contract, Jacobs will be a preferred supplier in agreed areas of scope and support. Jacobs has been closely involved with the Hinkley Point C project from the outset and will continue supporting licensing and permitting applications to regulators and acting as delivery partner for programme, project and construction management services on the earthworks, main civil works, marine works and heat sink systems. The company also provides a broad range of specialist engineering and technical services, including equipment qualification for IT and telecommunications systems, HVAC dampers, sensors, thermocouples, polar crane, and smart devices and their associated software.
