Scottish engineering firm Wood has secured a new contract to support the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power station in the UK. Under the multi-million dollar contract, the company will provide engineering and technical services to improve the project delivery and commercial performance, as well as technical supply chain delivery. Effectively immediately, the Hinkley Technical Support Alliance (HTSA) agreement will have a performance period of five years with an option to extend it for a further five years. Wood Specialist Technical Solutions CEO Bob MacDonald said: “We are looking forward to providing additional support to EDF Energy on a project, which is vital to the UK’s energy security and the transition to a lower carbon energy mix.
