The competitiveness of solar energy is finally unanimously recognized. However, the need to maintain a nuclear know-how in France, at the industrial and military levels, could lead the country, once again, to over-invest in this sector, thereby excluding the preferred energy of the French. The story of the early eighties is repeated. The nuclear issue continues to pollute the French decision-making landscape, even as the competitiveness of this “useless folly in which we persist”, in the words of Nicolas Hulot, is not more. This, everyone recognizes, is due in part to the rapid decline in the costs of renewable energy and the growth of nuclear energy illustrated by the financial pitfall of EPR. What a waste of energy! It is time to clarify the roadmap for the next 10 years, bearing in mind the only objective that counts, that of the world we want to leave for future generations.
