At the end of 2019, Orano flooded the media with advertisements touting the “recyclable” nature of nuclear power and presenting this technology as virtuous for the climate. Following the complaints filed by the “Sortir du nuclear“ Network and Greenpeace France, the Advertising Ethics Jury agreed with them in a notice published on April 29, 2020 , recognizing that these advertisements violated several recommendations of the Professional Regulatory Authority of The advertisement. Our associations welcome this decision. They denounce the false communication of Orano and recall that nuclear power is neither recyclable nor a solution to climate change.
