The Scottish government has promised a total ban on fracking across the country, in what it pledged yesterday would be its final word on the matter. The SNP announced a moratorium on fracking in 2015, and in 2017 the SNP-led government said it would not support the practice following the results of a four-month consultation, which revealed strong public opposition.
