RWE, Germany’s largest utility, dropped to the bottom of the Dax on Monday morning after the results of Sunday’s federal election suggested the anti-coal power Greens could join the government. Shares in the company dropped 4 per cent, even as a weak euro helped the wider Dax index climb 0.2 per cent. If held that would be its worst one-day drop since last November.
