Scotland’s largest climate polluter Ineos says it is spending £1 billion to slash greenhouse emissions at its refinery in Grangemouth. The petrochemical multinational said that its Grangemouth operation, which includes oil, chemical and power plants, emits about three million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. Ineos said that it wanted all businesses at the site to make and use hydrogen along with carbon-capture mechanisms to store at least one million tonnes of carbon dioxide by 2030.
