Following the ASN inspection in June 2019 at the Flamanville power plant, 36 breaches of environmental regulations were discovered, these facts being liable to cause serious pollution and endanger people working on the site. It is therefore an alarming report on the environmental negligence observed on reactors 1 and 2 as well as at the EPR. They reflect EDF’s contempt for the environment and the protection of people. Exceptionally, on July 4, 2019, the Director of ASN summoned the Director of the Flamanville nuclear power plant to point out the deficiencies in the mastery of technical actions, maintenance and monitoring faults of service providers. Refusing that such serious problems go unpunished, the associations Réseau Sortir du Nucléaire, CRILAN, FNE and FNE Normandie, Stop EPR neither in Penly nor elsewhere filed a complaint this week for these 36 violations of environmental regulations to the Public Prosecutor of Cherbourg.
