Finnish nuclear regulator STUK has carried out a scheduled inspection of RAOS Project Oy – a subsidiary of Russia’s Rosatom – via Skype, in line with social distancing restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic. Rosatom is building the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant using a 1200 MWe AES-2006 VVER under a fixed-price contract. RAOS Voima Oy – the general supplier to the plant – is the Finnish subsidiary the Russian state nuclear corporation set up in 2014 for the purpose of buying a share in Fennovoima, the company that owns the Hanhikivi project. RAOS Project Oy is a subsidiary of Rosatom Energy International, which is also part of Rosatom.
