There is believed to be nearly 20 possible cases of coronavirus at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde in Scotland. A makeshift quarantine unit has been set up on the site.

Local anglers have called on the Ministry of Defence to carry out a study into the impact of increasing the strength of nuclear waste discharged into the Firth of Clyde. Under plans submitted to the Scottish environmental protection agency (SEPA), future annual discharges of waste from the bases at Faslane and Coulport could be up to 52 times higher than current levels.
