Taking a stand against nuclear energy, Luxembourg and Austria will sue the European Commission for allowing Hungary to proceed with a Russian-funded expansion of its Paks power station. Anti-nuclear Austria first announced its intentions to take legal action in January against its neighbour Hungary’s plans, which would see Rosatom build two Russian VVER 1200 reactors at the existing Paks plant. Luxembourg said it would join the action this week, on 5 March. The two countries will take their case to the European Court of Justice.
