Construction is now underway on a major battery storage rollout, following a new partnership announced today between UK Power Reserve and Fluence, the energy storage specialist owned by Siemens and AES. The deal is being touted by UK Power Reserve as the UK’s largest energy storage portfolio transaction with one technology provider to date. The first 60MW of capacity will be delivered via three 20MW installations in the Midlands and North West England, adding to UK Power Reserve’s existing 1GW of generation and storage capacity.
