BP-backed renewables supplier claims clean energy can be offered cheaper than fossil fuels after cutting its prices by £12 per year. App-based renewable energy supplier Pure Planet has announced it is dropping its prices, in a move it says could save its members over £150 a year on a typical household energy bill. In the latest bid from a smaller player to disrupt Big Six domination of the energy market, from today Pure Planet is lowering its membership fees – equivalent to standing daily charges – by £12 per year for its dual-fuel customers to £8 a month per fuel including VAT. The fee was previously £8.50 a month per fuel.
