It is incredible how our Electricity Supply sources and usage has changed over the last 9 Years. So here’s some food for thought. No new Nuclear has been added to the UK mix since Valentines day 1995 nearly 26 years ago.All of last year’s 6.235GW per hour (on average) Wind Generation certainly didn’t exist in 1995 and is already the equivalent of more than 5 Sizewell B’s … with more wind power coming on tap each year.Last year Wind Power exceeded Nuclear for the first time. Coal usage is just 3.2% of its 2012 value. Electricity demand in 2020 was 77.8% that in 20122020 Average Demand was 28.446GW (93% of 2019’s ) down from 36.554GW in 2012.
