DENMARK’S largest seawater heat pump is supplied from Switzerland. DIN Forsyning has reached an important milestone in the transition from carbon-based district heating to a climate and environmental green district heating. Contracts have now been entered into with the large production units, which will initially replace Ørsted’s coal power plant when it is closed down on 1 April 2023. We have a strategy to have a 100% fossil-free value chain by 2030. With the two signed contracts for the seawater heat pump and the chip-based heating plant, the multi-supply is well on its way to the ambitious goal. The world’s largest CO 2 -based seawater heat pump comes from MAN. It will be Swiss MAN Energy Solution AG that will supply the large 50 MW seawater heat pump. It will be the backbone of our construction at the Port of Esbjerg, which will house the future green district heating production for the almost 100,000 inhabitants of Esbjerg, Varde and Nordby.
