An activist who has helped repeatedly bring traffic on the M25 to a standstill in protest at the Government’s slow progress in insulating homes has suggested he does not “particularly care” about the cause. In a bizarre radio exchange, Liam Norton, one of the leaders of the Insulate Britain campaign, admitted he had failed to insulate his own flat in London, saying – apparently flippantly – “because I’m a hypocrite”. Mr Norton, who last month stormed off ITV’s GMB after being challenged by host Susanna Reid, refused to explain or justify his group’s actions during Saturday’s interview on talkRADIO.

THERE is “no appetite” in the Scottish Government to clamp down on climate protests and activists ahead of COP26, Scottish Greens co-leader Patrick Harvie has said. It comes after Priti Patel announced in her speech to the Conservative Party conference last week that she plans to use the incoming policing bill to grant new powers to police to crack down on activists.
