Farmers in Scotland are facing the biggest changes since tractors replaced horses in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to a report. The independent report by Farming for 1.5C makes 15 key proposals for the coming years. They include more use of renewable energy, a cap on methane emissions from livestock and improved management of land. The report was published yesterday and presents a wide range of views collated over the past 18 months. The authors want pilot schemes set up to establish best practice and baseline carbon tracking measures established as soon as possible.
