Bristol Energy has today (10th January) announced its new 100 percent green electricity and lower carbon gas portfolio of tariffs, largely powered by local wind and solar farms, as the city enters the 10 year countdown to its 2030 carbon neutral target. On a mission to make Bristol a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live, Bristol Energy has launched three new green products; BE Simply Green, BE Super Green and Big Issue Super Green. These are the only tariffs now available to new customers. All three products contain only 100 percent green electricity and lower carbon gas, with a particular focus on sourcing renewable energy from local, South West-based generators. The BE Super Green and Big Issue Super Green products’ green electricity is sourced directly from UK generators, such as wind power from Wales’ (Ceredigion) Grannell Coop and solar power from Swansea’s Gower Power, with 100 percent gas carbon offsets. For every switch, Bristol Energy will put aside £20 (Based on duel-fuel 2 year fixed tariff) towards environmental and social projects, such as the One Tree per Child tree planting scheme in Bristol.
