Nuclear power giant Toshiba Westinghouse has vowed to give Lancashire a huge jobs boost if its design for a new generation of reactors is picked by the government.
The company has said it would make a fresh investment into the Springfields plant in Salwick near Preston if it wins the lucrative contract.
However, it has also suggested that it may alternatively concentrate investment in a rival fuel plant in Sweden if it misses out.
