The green light is expected to be given for a new “world-class” infrastructure skills training centre on Anglesey. Grwp Llandrillo Menai has submitted a planning application for a Centre for Infrastructure Skills (CIST) at its Llangefni campus, which is being recommended for approval by its planning committee. The objective is to create a training centre of excellence for the region which will deliver many of the skills requirements associated with the construction stages of major infrastructure projects such as Wylfa Newydd. According to the report that will be presented to members of the council’s planning committee on Wednesday, “A training centre of excellence for North Wales, it is anticipated this will deliver many of the skill requirements associated with the construction stages of major infrastructure projects.
