Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns met representatives from Hitachi at its headquarters in Tokyo earlier today to discuss the future of Wylfa Newydd. Last month Hitachi suspended plans to build the new multi-billion pound nuclear power station on Anglesey. The decision came after they failed to reach a mutually acceptable deal with the UK Government over funding support for the project. UK Government remains in talks with the Japanese company and there are hopes a new deal could tempt them back.
