The Government has been accused of being “incapable of delivering large infrastructure projects in Wales” after suspending plans for a new nuclear power station in Anglesey. The comments came from Shadow Welsh Minister, Chris Ruane MP, who called the abandonment of the Wylfa Newydd plant in North Wales “the cancellation of cancellations”. The £20bn nuclear power station was expected to secure thousands of future jobs for the island. It’s still unclear if the project can be revived. But this latest fallout comes amid a number of other failed infrastructure projects.
