Energy giant E.ON has teamed up with developer Berkeley Homes to trial a range of smart home technologies, to test whether they can help make energy efficient behaviour “second nature” for householders. The two firms confirmed yesterday they are to deploy the latest smart home technologies, such as battery energy storage systems, on-site renewables, and EV charging points, at Berkeley’s Kidbrooke Village development in London in order to assess how far they can help cut energy use in everyday life.
