Twelve footpaths are earmarked either for closure or diversion if EDF Energy decide to use the railway for transporting construction materials for the nuclear power station. Residents are concerned the closures could impact on walks across the east Suffolk landscape with crossings from Saxmundham to Westerfield being named by EDF as at risk of closure. Ufford resident Adam Thomas is one of those objecting to the potential closure of the Melton-Bromeswell crossing, which he believes will ruin local walks around Ufford and Bromeswell.
