Industry bodies in Poland have confirmed that the Polish government is bringing forward legislation that will pave the way for the construction of offshore windfarms in the country’s waters. Polish Wind Energy Association president Janusz Gajowiecki and think tank Forum Energii confirmed to OWJ reports that a bill enabling offshore wind energy to be introduced into the Polish energy system is being developed. Reports from Poland quoted MP Zbigniew Gryglas, who heads an offshore wind parliamentary committee, saying that Poland could build 6 GW of offshore wind by 2030, and potentially 10 GW by 2040.
