Francis Commercial Kitchen Services has completed a large-scale £2.1m project to supply catering facilities to EDF Energy’s vast nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.

WESTFIELD Church in Bridgwater has received more than £200,000 in funding to improve its facilities and employ a new community support worker. The project was one of six to benefit from the first grants from the Hinkley Point C Community Fund Strategic Grants Programme, landing £210,400 for the cause. Chris Baillie, minister at Westfield and Cannington United Reform Churches, said it was a huge boost. The money will allow the church to upgrade the Church Hall so that it can become a ‘hub for community support’.

An agreement has been signed between economic development organisations in the South West and Normandy in France. The deal between Nuclear South West – a public-private partnership promoting business opportunities in the nuclear industry – and France-based Nucleopolis (the nuclear division of Normandie Energies) is set to create jobs in the Bristol region and help attract investment. The Memorandum of Understanding will see Nuclear South West and Nucleopolis work together to connect companies with £50billion worth of nuclear investments in the West of England and an annual market in Normandy worth more than £1billion a year.
