Germany’s sunny autumn, and the interceding winter storms Xavier and Herwart, have combined to provide Germany with an all-time month high of renewable energy production in October. Fully 44.1 per cent of all Germany’s energy production for October was produced from renewable sources. 20.7 billion Kw/h were produced, enough to energise 5.9m two-person homes. Renewable sources have produced more than 38 per cent overall of Germany’s energy production this year, keeping the country on course to meet many targets of its energy transition policy, the Energiewende.
