UK urged to ‘rethink and reverse’ gas storage plans. The head of Italy’s largest gas distribution company has urged the UK to “rethink and reverse” its decision to operate its network with minimal storage capacity, warning it risks creating shortages and price spikes across the whole European continent.

Five of world’s largest oil companies have been shamed by a group led by the Church of England’s pension fund for failing to set climate change targets, while Royal Dutch Shell and Total have received the blessing of ethical investors. The Anglo-Dutch and French oil giants are the only majors to have set long-term climate change targets that are aligned with goals set by governments within the Paris Climate Accord, according to a group backed by the Church of England Pensions Board and 30 other investment funds.
