Khai Trung Le talks to Audun Botterud on the promise of flexible nuclear. Renewable and nuclear power are rarely, if ever, regarded as co-conspirators. But a joint study between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Argonne National Laboratory, USA, claims solar and wind power may be the foundation that not only enables flexible, responsive nuclear output, but also provides lower operating costs and cheaper electricity for the consumer.
